Datacircle sells dollar credits: $1 buys 1 dollar credit, and every call spends them at the provider’s price, no markup (Pricing).

Kinds of dollar credits

  • Signup: 5 dollar credits, permanent, once per workspace.
  • Temporary: from a campaign. The launch campaign adds 20 dollar credits, usable for 24 hours, to every workspace created since the campaign opened on its first GET /dollar-credits/ or provider call in launch week (the 7 days after launch; the 24 hours start then; GET /files/ and /me/ calls don’t start them), while the launch budget of 1,000 dollar credits lasts. It is listed in temporary with its expires_at; whatever is left then is gone.
  • Bought: through Stripe Checkout, permanent.
  • Manual: added to your workspace by Datacircle by hand (a refund, a gift, a deal), permanent.
Every field is explained in the API reference: Datacircle, Read the balance.

Spend order

Each call spends temporary dollar credits first (soonest to expire), then the signup dollar credits, then bought and manual dollar credits (oldest first). So free dollar credits never sit unused while you pay.

Buying dollar credits

Buy any whole number of dollar credits from 5 to 10,000 from your dashboard, or from the API: it returns a Stripe payment page to open or hand to a human.
The dollar credits land as soon as Stripe confirms the payment. Everyone who buys 50 dollar credits (in total) unlocks the co-op files (coop_iblinked and coop_up2data), new every day, for the foreseeable future (see Files). Free dollar credits never count toward it.
